MARSING, Idaho (CBS2) — A school bus driver is accused of driving a school bus under the influence of alcohol.
According to the Owyhee County Sheriff's Office, 56-year-old Daniel Carl ran off the side of the road on Main Street in Marsing. No children were on the bus at the time, but authorities said Carl was 20 feet away from picking up children at his first bus stop.
Deputies contacted Carl and recognized the Head Start driver had obvious signs of impairment, according to authorities.
A subsequent investigation determined Carl had a blood alcohol content of .33. The sheriff's office said he was arrested and booked into the Owyhee County Jail for driving with an excessive blood alcohol content while driving a school bus.
